Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be unexpected and devastating, and it's common for people to feel overwhelmed and lost as they adjust to their new normal. Cancer not only negatively impacts the patient, but has tremendous practical and emotional consequences for their loved ones as well. Due to a generous grant provided by Families for a Cure, Nemeth Counseling is able to provide both group and individual mental health services for those individuals who have received a cancer diagnosis as well as their loved ones, free of charge. Whatever the prognosis may be, working through the difficult experience of your own or a loved one's cancer diagnosis can help you improve your quality of life.
- Services are available for adults who have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as their friends and family members who are impacted.
- Services are intended to provide participants with healthy coping skills and help them explore distressing experiences and memories related to the diagnosis.
- Groups include two eight-week periods of therapy sessions with other participants.
- All services are provided at no cost to the participant.
