Youth ADHD Assessment
A formal ADHD diagnosis can not only provide answers to your questions about your child's behavior, but can also open the door for the treatment needed to take your child down a path to a healthier and more balanced life. The Nemeth Counseling Youth ADHD Assessment program uses a carefully crafted combination of assessments and interviews in order to provide the most accurate and evidence-based diagnosis for your child. This assessment is for children under the age of 18.
The Youth ADHD Assessment uses a combination of clinical interviews and testing, which together paint a vivid picture of the child's experience. We utilize the Conners 3 Assessment to evaluate for the three types of ADHD and the most common co-occurring mental and behavioral health conditions in children age 6 to 18. We divide our assessment up over 4 sessions, the initial session involves meeting with a trained clinician who will provide an overview of the process and complete a structured interview as well as schedule an individual session with the child and a separate session with the parent(s)/guardian(s) to complete the appropriate assessment forms. The clinician will then take the time to review the assessments and generate a report that will contain the findings from the assessment forms and the interviews as well as recommendations for ongoing care which will be reviewed in the fourth and final session. All sessions can be completed in person or through our online virtual counseling platform.
