Caitlin Hay is a Licensed Social Worker through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. She earned her Master of Social Work at The Ohio State University, where she focused her education on evidence-based clinical therapy with individuals and groups. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
Caitlin was first inspired to dive full-time into the mental health world while she was volunteering as a suicide hotline interventionist and training instructor at Suicide Prevention Services. Prior to joining the Nemeth team, Caitlin provided outpatient psychotherapy to teens and young adults navigating new diagnoses of psychotic disorders at OSU Harding Hospital's Early Psychosis Intervention Center. There, she was trained and certified to administer the Structured Interview for Psychosis Risk Syndromes (SIPS) through Yale University. Caitlin also worked as part of a research study through the OSU College of Public Health, where she offered metacognitive remediation therapy to adults with psychotic disorders to observe its efficacy on smoking cessation.
At Nemeth Counseling, Caitlin provides evidence-based therapy to teens and adults with a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, phobias, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, chronic pain, and grief. She has vested interests in crisis intervention and helping clients navigate challenging life transitions. Caitlin takes a holistic, big picture approach to therapy, which is fostered by her experience studying meditation and nutrition. She believes that the first step is building strong alliances with her clients, and she strives to provide a supportive environment where positive change is approached collaboratively. All cultures, races, sexual orientations, and gender identities are welcome and encouraged.
