Contessa Bush is a Licensed Social Worker, licensed through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Contessa received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University. Before attending graduate school, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wright State University where she started her career working with children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Serving that population, which in some cases consumers happened to be dually diagnosed with mental health barriers, inspired her to further her education and service people from a clinical perspective.
Contessa has been in the clinical field for over three years and has worked with a variety of populations including: teen moms, homeless families, people with substance use disorders, and seniors. Contessa has worked in the outpatient mental health and addiction setting. In these settings, she has experience conducting individual therapy and group therapy. She believes in utilizing a wide range of techniques and skills to ensure that she is meeting the client where they are..
Through the use of Strength-Based Treatment, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfullness Therapy Contessa has successfully works with clients who are battling depression, anxiety, low self-worth, codependency characteristics, a history of trauma and/or neglect, as well as substance use. She takes a person centered approach and wants to empower all clients to create a better quality of life.
