Danyel is a Licensed Social Worker through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. She completed her undergraduate degree at Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Arts where she dual majored in Psychology and Sociology. Danyel then went on to earn her Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University.
Human relations, how individuals form friendships, relationships and familial bonds and how these ties can impact an individual’s overall health has always been a central focus of Danyel’s professional interests. Before beginning her journey to obtain a Master’s degree Danyel was employed in a domestic violence shelter working with survivors of domestic abuse. Then, while obtaining her Master’s degree Danyel was a clinical intern for Nemeth Counseling and Consultation. At Nemeth, she gained skills and experience providing counseling services in individual, couples, and group settings. Danyel places a large emphasis on mental, emotional health being an important aspect of an individual’s comprehensive health and their social wellbeing.
Danyel’s approach to therapy includes aspects of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and other strengths based modalities. Throughout the therapeutic process, Danyel believes a vital aspect of therapy is the collaborative component and being able to build a therapeutic rapport with her clients. Sessions are tailored to assist clients in identifying and creating new skills that allow clients to overcome current and potential future obstacles. She strives to acknowledge the unique circumstance of each client and tailor sessions to meet their needs while providing research-based interventions.
