She earned her Bachelor of  Arts in English Literature from Davidson College in NC and her Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in Cambridge MA.

After a career in media production, Ellen turned to serve the realm of public mental health, through In Home Family Therapy and individual counseling for children and adults. Her internship focused on children with neurodevelopmental challenges and their parents, via social skills groups. She also provided social/emotional wellness support in a therapeutic elementary school. Prior to moving to Ohio recently, Ellen worked for Lynn Community Health Center, as a city School Based Clinician. While living in Massachusetts, Ellen also maintained a private practice for adults.

Ellen takes a trauma-informed, multimodal approach to counseling and often utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Play Therapy and Family Therapy with clients. Not only does Ellen have an extensive background working with children and families; but, she also has broad experience with adults, including the LGBTQIA community. Her intention in all circumstances is to create a safe therapeutic environment in which to explore emotions and behavior patterns, address negative thoughts, learn new skills, and encounter the authentic self. Ellen has supported clients who are living with issues such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADH/D, parenting, and those who seek clarity with regard to questions of life stage or identity.

Many clients report that Ellen brings a calm, non-judgmental presence to their sessions. She is particularly skilled at deep listening and patience, which allows time for clients to feel heard, and appreciated for their unique strengths.
