Heather Gorslin is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science degree from the University of Dayton in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She also completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development and Family Science at The Ohio State University, where she graduated with Cum Laude Honors.
Heather completed her internship at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the Emergency Department where she worked with youth ages 2-18 dealing with depression, anxiety, aggression, trauma, bullying, LGBTQIA issues, suicidal ideation, and self-harm behaviors. She has also worked with children on the Autism Spectrum through Nationwide Children's Hospital, doing in-home ABA therapy. Heather has worked in many preschools, daycares and summer camps where she has developed educational programming and worked closely with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
At Nemeth Counseling, Heather specializes in working with children using a strengths-based, solution-focused counseling perspective to help them develop the skills and tools they need to live happier, healthier lives. She is excited to use play therapy and her child development knowledge to help children heal from trauma, adjust to new circumstances, and deal with the difficulties of navigating childhood and adolescence.
