Jonathan Zugel is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Jonathan received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Dayton and his Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado.
Jonathan has been working in the counseling field for nearly 15 years. His experience includes working with children in a group home in Chicago, to after school programs in the Detroit metro area, to working with adults in Denver. He has worked with a wide range of mental health issues including but not limited to addictions, anxiety, depression, bi-polar, stress management, anger management, men's issues, PTSD, work/life transitions, and couples/relationship issues.
Jonathan believes in a collaborative relationship, working with the client to establish goals that are individualized, focused, and meaningful. Jonathan takes a scientific, evidenced based approach, utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Jonathan believes in adapting his style to best fit what the client needs and therefore empowering the individual to find their inner strength to manage current issues, but also adapt the skills learned to potential future issues as well.
